For many of you, this marks one of the last months of school. If that applies to you–congratulations on completing another school year! Regardless of where this newsletter finds you in your school year, we at ANet hope these tools and resources help you analyze your assessments to better align with actionable data for student learning.
This month, we focus on how we help partners with their assessment strategy. The newsletter begins with a showcase of the pilot assessment strategy cohorts in three Texas districts. Our second resource focuses on our partnership to implement HQIM after setting a foundation with an assessment strategy. The last piece comes from our recent article in Education Week discussing assessment obstacles and opportunities. After you read these pieces, download our assessment pulse check resource at the end of this email. As always, if anything in this newsletter piques your interest, please contact us!

State Assessment Strategy Partnership Brings Clarity and Coherence to Districts
Educators nationwide are grappling with the challenge of effectively assessing student learning amidst a push for high-quality instructional materials. Many schools find themselves bogged down by redundant assessments that consume valuable instructional time and do not accurately gauge student progress. However, strategic collaboration among districts, exemplified by partnerships like ANet's with Crowley, Everman, and Aldine, offers a promising solution. By aligning assessment goals, refining assessment strategies, and fostering a deep understanding of data usage, these districts aim to empower both students and teachers. See how three districts embark to create their districtwide assessment strategy.
We know there is a strong connection between assessment strategy and high-quality materials (HQIM). After engaging in ANet's assessment strategy work, Manor ISD used a grant to work with ANet and implement a new ELA HQIM. Check out our showcase of their work to align priorities and educator practices.
Recently, we wrote an article about overcoming assessment obstacles for Education Week. The piece, titled Testing Season: Who Are We Really Testing For? Transforming Assessments from Obstacles to Opportunities, discusses successful assessment routines and provides high-level tips to align assessments with student learning.
